The New York University in Abu Dhabi, established in 2009, prides itself on teaching future global leaders. There were 15,000 applicants for the scholarships, and 18-year-old Warren Grove resident Lucas Olscamp earned one of the 150 spots.

"They told me what day they would tell me, so it's just been a week of kind of waiting around for that day," said Olscamp.

"Finally reading that acceptance letter was pretty exciting, just kind of dancing around, and having a great time. And definitely telling my dad was pretty amazing."

Olscamp's scholarship includes four years of tuition at $65,000 a year and flights home during his studies. He will start classes in September.

Olscamp is still not sure what he'd like to major in, or what he might do after graduation.
