P.E.I. pedestrian killed by snow-removal vehicle

A woman has died after being struck by a snow-removal vehicle in Stratford, P.E.I., on Sunday.

Her name and age have not been released.

The accident occurred about 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Glen Stewart Drive, Const. Jennifer Taylor stated in a news release.

A heavy equipment vehicle was removing snow when it struck the woman, Taylor said.

The victim was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, where she died.

Police, fire and EMS crews responded to the accident, along with officials from P.E.I.'s Worker's Compensation Board.
