P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission says sales up across the board
The P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission has released sales figures for the first two quarters of its fiscal year.
Wine sees biggest jump in revenue
Liquor sales on the Island are on the rise, according to the P.E.I. Liquor Control Commission.
The commission released second quarter results, which cover the period from April 1 to Sept. 30, on Monday.
The results show year-to-date total sales including taxes of $60.8 million. That's an increase of $1.4 million or 2.5 per cent.
The total volume of alcohol sold was up 1.5 per cent.
Beer continues to lead sales, followed by spirits and then wine.
Overall customer numbers were up about 1.8 per cent, while the average dollar value of each transaction grew by 24 cents to $41.51.
