P.E.I. health officials visit N.S. centres
Maggie Brown reports from a trip by P.E.I. health officials to collaborative care centres in Nova Scotia.
P.E.I. Health Minister Doug Currie and a team of provincial health officials are travelling to Nova Scotia today to visit collaborative emergency centres in Springhill and Parsboro.
The centres - which combine the services of doctors, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, paramedics and other health care professionals – are designed to give local residents more timely access to the health services they need, from 24/7 emergency care to same or next day routine medical appointments.
The CBC's Maggie Brown is on the trip, and will send reports through the day.
