A home at West Cable Head on P.E.I.'s North Shore has set a record for the most expensive ever listed on the Island.

The six-bedroom mansion is on the market for $7.75 million. Sitting just a few metres from the beach, it occupies 4.5 hectares of land.

It was designed and built by an architect from Philadelphia, with custom-made windows, stone imported from Pennsylvania and a roof of western red cedar. In addition to the six bedrooms, there are eight bathrooms.

It has the distinction of being the only home on P.E.I. currently listed through Sotheby's in New York.
