A new roundabout is coming to Charlottetown.
It’s one of eight new construction projects announced Wednesday by the province.
The roundabout will be built at the intersection of Upton Road at the bypass highway.
Other projects include bridge repairs in Augustine Cove, as well roadwork in Marshfield, New London, Springton and York.
Transportation Minister Robert Vessey says the roundabout will help alleviate traffic backups.
“There is a lot of traffic in the evenings at peak times and it just can't get through. It's backed up 700 or 800 metres. We have to have the traffic flow running smoother,” he said.
