First full-time family practice for Dr. Adriana Verdejo
A new doctor will begin to practice family medicine full-time at the Eastern Kings Health Centre in Souris, P.E.I., in September.
Dr. Adriana Verdejo will be the third full-time family doctor at the health care centre. She had worked as a locum at the location in the fall of 2015 and decided to relocate to P.E.I. permanently.
"I have heard many positive comments about Dr. Verdejo from Souris residents and staff, and we are very happy that she has accepted our offer to join us," Health and Wellness Minister Robert Henderson said in a release.
Verdejo, originally from Santiago, Chile said she has been doing locum work across Canada.
The addition of the new doctor means 11 of the 12 positions in the Kings County physician complement is filled.
