A Montague man is doing the rounds again this week for his food drive for the Southern Kings and Queens Food Bank.

Robert Benoit began the food drive five years ago as a way to give back to an organization that helped him once through a difficult time.

"One year I had to do the thing to go to the food bank. We were kind of stressed out and we said well someday I'll give back," said Benoit.

"And five years ago when Lawrence Power was on CBC saying that the food bank shelves were empty, I said well now is my time to give back. So I decided I would do it then and it got so popular then that I said well I may as well keep going with it every year."

Benoit calls the food drive his pre-Thanksgiving thank-you.

He hopes to collect two or three truckloads of donations which is about 2,000 pounds of food.
