Mary Boyd invested into Order of Canada
Prince Edward Island social activist Mary Boyd was officially named a member of the Order of Canada on Friday.
Prince Edward Island social activist Mary Boyd was officially named a member of the Order of Canada on Friday.
Boyd was named to the order in June as a member of the Order of Canada for her social service work.
"Mary Boyd has spent most of her adult life giving a voice to the vulnerable and marginalized on Prince Edward Island," the citation read during her investiture Friday.
She was recognized as a founder of the MacKillop Centre for Social Justice founder and for her work with Kairos and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace.
