Ontario family looks to return ring found on Brackley Beach
'We just want to have a happy reunion and I know what it's like'
An Ontario family who visited P.E.I. on vacation is trying to return a ring they found on Brackley Beach.
Rania Walker says the family found the wedding band in the sand while putting their towel down.
"We were looking for a rock or something to hold it down because it was a windy day and lo and behold my husband kicked up a wedding band," said Walker.
"On a personal level, a few years ago my husband lost his own wedding band and it's never been recovered so when we found this one we thought, 'Okay maybe this is our chance to give somebody a little bit of a, I don't know, reunion with theirs, something we haven't been able to do ourselves,'" said Walker.
Hoping for 'a happy reunion'
Walker has shared pictures of the ring on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter in the hopes of finding the owner.
Anyone who thinks the ring might belong to them can reach out to her on social media and let her know what the inscription says. If they get it right, she says, she'll happily mail it to the owner.
Walker hopes people will share the story as visitors from all over the world visit P.E.I.

"We just want to have a happy reunion and I know what it's like … There's a lot of sentiment tied into wedding bands and we're just hoping that we can get it back to its rightful owner."
