In 2007, the Toronto-based photographer did a shoot of some shacks in Ontario. He didn't give it more thought until a trip to P.E.I. a year later, when he noticed shacks on the Stratford side of the Charlottetown harbour.

"If there are ice-fishing huts in Prince Edward Island, they have to be everywhere in Canada," he said.

That started a quest to take photos of shacks in every province, which he eventually hopes to publish as a coffee table book. Eight years later he has photographed the huts in every province but British Columbia.
