The new $60-million wind farm in Hermanville is meeting projections for wind energy production, says P.E.I. Finance and Energy Minister Wes Sheridan.

The 10 wind turbines have been in full operation since the end of January.

The last few months have been windy and many days the wind turbines are running at full capacity, Sheridan said.

“It is rolling along at the anticipated levels. And we've absolutely met our expectations. And when we look at what that means, over 30 per cent of our domestic use is now being churned out by wind power here on Prince Edward Island,” Sheridan said.

An open house is being planned for mid-May, said Sheridan.
