People in Summerside, P.E.I. are getting ready for a big event Friday evening to celebrate a hometown hero.

More than 2,000 people are expected to gather at Credit Union Place to celebrate Heather Moyse's second Olympic gold medal win in Sochi.

Moyse and her bobsleigh partner Kaillie Humphries also won a gold medal at the Vancouver Olympics.

The doors open at 5 p.m. and the show will begin at 6 p.m.

Special speakers include Lieutenant-Governor Frank Lewis, Premier Robert Ghiz and Mayor Basil Stewart. CBC P.E.I.'s Bruce Rainnie will host the celebration.

Moyse will sign autographs afterwards.
