Brooke MacMillan has paid $250,000 into a trust account controlled by the government's business development arm. That represents the investments of six potential immigrants to P.E.I., who applied through the PNP.
MacMillan came under fire for receiving the cash during a period of transition between his oversight of the program and taking a new job with the provincial liquor commission.
While no actual conflict was found, the province's auditor general said there was an appearance of conflict. Premier Robert Ghiz told MacMillan to pay back the money.
The money will be invested into local businesses.
