PEI Family Violence Prevention Services has reached the halfway mark for its annual fundraising campaign.

The volunteer organization has raised $21,000 so far.

This year the focus of the campaign is for youth programming, explaining how to have healthy and safe relationships, for example.

"Right now we're in four schools and we hit all Grade sevens in the four schools," said Michelle Buttery, the children's services co-ordinator with the group. "Ideally we would like to totally expand the amount of schools and upscale the program."

Every year, the organization offers programs to over 500 students in junior and senior high schools across the province.
