Drug-impaired driving charge laid against woman, 21

A 21-year-old woman was charged with driving while impaired by drugs Friday in Wilmot Valley, say RCMP.

A 21-year-old woman was charged with driving while impaired by drugs Friday in Wilmot Valley, say RCMP.

Prince District RCMP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Route 107, east of Summerside, at 9:30 p.m. Friday night. 

Police stopped the vehicle and say the female driver showing signs of impairment.

A drug recognition expert was called to assist with the investigation and it was determined the woman was under the influence of drugs, say police.

The woman has been released from custody and will appear in court on April 17 to answer to the charge.
