Chase the Ace jackpot grows to over $400K in Tignish
Over 2,000 show up for latest draw; event returns Nov. 6
Players can still Chase the Ace in Tignish after another card was pulled at Friday night's event.
The winner took home $27,000 and the jackpot for the Tignish Volunteer Fire Department's Chase the Ace is now over $413,000.
Deputy Fire Chief Allan Gavin says there are 13 cards left in the deck including the ace of spades.
"Your chances are getting better each week to pull the ace."
But players will have to wait an extra week to see if they will be the one to pick it.
Chase the Ace won't be held Friday, Oct. 30 due to Halloween and the number of activities being held on the weekend. It will return Nov 6..
Over 2,000 people attended the latest draw in Tignish.
Gavin says they are prepared for crowds after what happened in Inverness, Cape Breton — when the Chase the Ace exploded in popularity.
"We're preparing for a big influx," said Gavin. "We've got some stuff in place."
