February is Black History Month in Canada, writes Vanessa C. Wachuku. But there is an opportunity for greater recognition of the contributions of Black Canadians that extend beyond the confines of 28 or 29 days in the month of February. 

'This is not an isolated incident,' writes Vanessa C. Wachuku. 'How many times must a Black child experience such violence before adults say enough is enough? How many times must children be subjected to violence based on their race before changes are made?'
