Another Gemini for Cellar Door
An Island television production company has picked up its second Gemini Award. Gretha Rose, and her company Cellar Door Productions, won for the animated program Doodlez.
It won the Best Animated Program or Series Gemini during Sunday's ceremony in Toronto.
Doodlez is a series of 11 two minute animated short stories. Each begins with a blank screen, and the animator then draws the story.
It's the second year the series has won a Gemini. Cellar Door was nominated for four Gemini awards for its production work in various catagories this year.

Rose received more good news recently about Doodlez. It has just been bought by the Nickelodeon network in the United States.
"It's kind of like winning the lottery. So it took quite a bit to negotiate the deal, and the great thing about it is once you get that many eyeballs on that type of property, it starts to really drive merchandising and licensing. So several of the top purchasing and licensing companies have come to us to sign on to the property."
Gretha Rose taught Business Law, Communications and Human Resource Management at Holland College. She was also president of a successful manufacturing company, Creative Esthetics Laboratory, for 10 years before starting the production company.
