2 new roundabouts for rural P.E.I.
Design unique to Atlantic Canada with reduced curbs and medians
Two new roundabouts will be built in rural P.E.I. during the upcoming construction season, Transportation Minister Rob Vessey announced Thursday.
They will be constructed at the intersection of Baldwins Road and the 48 Road (located east of Cardigan, south of Mount Stewart) and in Stanley Bridge at the intersection of Cavendish and Rattenbury Roads.
Vessey said these new roundabouts will be unique to Atlantic Canada and are specifically designed for intersections in rural communities that see less traffic than urban areas.
They are similar to existing roundabouts, but have reduced curbs and medians costing less to build.
