The P.E.I. government has recruited two more doctors to work at the cancer treatment centre in Charlottetown.

Dr. Vaughan Cipperly will join the centre as a medical oncologist and Dr. Vimoj Nair as an associate radiation oncologist.

"Our Government is committed to ensuring Islanders have access to oncology services right here in Prince Edward Island, and recruitment in the field has been a top priority," said Health Minister Doug Currie in a news release Thursday morning.

Cipperly is American Board certified with a fellowship in hematology oncology and currently has a practice in Colorado.

"I’m very excited about relocating to Prince Edward Island and about the new challenges and opportunities that I will encounter," he said.

Nair is set to start start work in August and Cipperly is scheduled to begin full-time practice in mid-September.
