Gliding along the skateway, slipping down giant snow slides and wandering through a palace of ice sculptures are all part of the Winterlude experience.
And another big part of Winterlude this year is music and dance to keep the crowds warm when the sun goes down.
Canadian musicians will take the stage in Confederation Park at 7:30 p.m. throughout the weekends of Winterlude which runs from Jan. 29 to Feb. 15 this year.

Friday Jan. 29: Quebec singer songwriter Gregory Charles will launch the festival along with the percussion ensemble Insolita.
Jan. 30, 2016: A Tribe Called Red, Ottawa's dynamic group of three aboriginal DJs, will deliver their mix of electronic and traditional music.

Feb. 5, 2016: Hamilton's Terra Lightfoot (no relation to Gordon) has been busy on tour opening for Blue Rodeo. The talented singer songwriter with a distinctly rock vibe brings her band to Confederation Park.

Feb. 12, 2016: Ottawa's the Hilotrons are well known for their high energy alternative rock and dance grooves.
Feb. 13, 2016: The husband and wife duo Whitehorse, Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland, make beautiful country infused folk music together.
