When it's 17 C on Christmas Eve, it seems like a shame to spend it indoors — and many of CBC Ottawa's Twitter followers appear to agree.

When it's 17 C in Ottawa on Dec. 24, it seems like a shame to spend it indoors.

According to Environment Canada, a low pressure system over James Bay is behind the balmy weather that's sent the mercury soaring in much of eastern Ontario.

So we asked our Twitter followers to send photos of how they were enjoying their unseasonable warm Christmas Eve, and they didn't disappoint.

Enjoy the weather while you can, however: temperatures should drop to the single digits on Christmas Day, and it could get as cold as -12 C on Dec. 28.
