Ottawa's tulip festival, in pictures

From Lansdowne Park to Major's Hill Park, from Dows Lake to the ByWard Market, it's hard to miss all the tulips dotting Ottawa's urban landscape these days.

From Lansdowne Park to Major's Hill Park, from Dows Lake to the ByWard Market, it's hard to miss the tulips dotting Ottawa's urban landscape.

The Canadian Tulip Festival is in full swing, and one of this year's highlights have been the proliferation of Canada 150 tulips, with their distinctive red-and-white markings bearing resemblance the Canadian flag — at least, most of the time.

So many people have been out snapping photos, in fact, that on Thursday the National Capital Commission urged motorists to drive with extra caution near Commissioners Park this weekend.

We've been out taking photos too. Here are a few of the best:

On Twitter, CBC Ottawa weather guru Ian Black has also been sharing some of the public's best shots from this year's festival.

The festival officially runs until May 22.
