No freezing rain was recorded overnight at the Ottawa airport, and that means students in the city are waking up to find school bus service running normally.
But in surrounding areas, especially to the north where temperatures were cooler, school buses were cancelled due to icy road conditions Thursday morning:
- The Pontiac and Outaouais sectors of Western Quebec School Board.
- The Upper Canada District School Board.
- Commission scolaire des Draveurs.
- Commission scolaire des Portages-de-l'Outaouais.
- The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
- Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario (not including Ottawa, Kingston and Trenton).
- Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (not including Ottawa, Kingston and Trenton).
- The Renfrew County District School Board.
- The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board.
Buses are running for:
- The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
- The Ottawa Catholic School Board.
- Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario in Ottawa, Kingston and Trenton.
- Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est in Ottawa, Kingston and Trenton.
No one in Ottawa was without power early Thursday morning, but hundreds of Hydro One customers in surrounding areas were left without service.
At the Ottawa International Airport, 15 flights were delayed or cancelled as of 7 a.m.
