Police are investigating after a body was found this morning behind a Kelsey's in Ottawa's South Keys neighbourhood.

Ontario Provincial Police and Ottawa police major crimes investigators are both at the scene of what they are calling a death investigation. Forensics investigators are also at the scene.

The body was found at around 9 a.m. in the bushes between the Kelsey's and Bank Street, according to an Ottawa police spokesman.

Police as well as friends of Melissa Richmond —a North Dundas township woman who disappeared Wednesday — said the body was found in same area where Richmond's car was recovered Friday night.

Richmond 28, was last seen Wednesday, July 24, leaving her home in her beige 2004 Chrysler Sebring.

Insp. Chris Renwick said police are not publicly making any connections right now between missing woman's car and the discovery of the body.
