Environment Canada has issued special weather statements warning between 15 and 25 millimetres of rain could fall on flood-prone parts of the region Wednesday, along with snow, ice pellets and freezing rain.
Communities along the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario could see 20 to 40 millimetres of rain, with less snow and ice in the mix.
The high in Ottawa could only be 1 C.
Water levels on the Ottawa River are expected to keep rising, with peak levels hitting the city on Wednesday and Thursday; other areas as soon as today.
Showers are in Ottawa's forecast for Thursday and Friday as well.
