History
The riding was established as Ottawa East in 1933 and became Ottawa-Vanier in 1973.
It's an ethnically, linguistically and economically diverse riding that's home to Rockcliffe Park, one of the city's wealthiest neighbourhoods, and Vanier, one of the poorest.
In 2013 the riding map was changed to include the neighbourhoods of Cardinal Heights and Beacon Hill South.
Incumbent candidate Mauril Bélanger has held the riding since 1995.
