The annual Canadian Tulip Festival officially began Thursday and many buds are already in bloom in the capital.

The festival runs from May 12 to 23, with tulip gardens in Ottawa at Major's Hill Park, Commissioners Park, Olympic Park and Lansdowne Park, as well as gardens in Gatineau at Malak's Bed and Montcalm-Taché Park.
