Battle for the burbs in Nepean
Liberal Chandra Arya took more than 50% of votes last time
A federal party's president is among the challengers facing Liberal incumbent Chandra Arya in this suburban Ottawa riding.
Arya, formerly with Invest Ottawa, earned more than 52 per cent of the vote four years ago.
He's running for re-election against IT entrepreneur Zaff Ansari of the NDP; Green Party president Jean-Luc Cooke, who also heads a Bells Corners community association; Azim Hooda of the People's Party; Conservative Brian St. Louis, who worked in public affairs for a mineral development company that makes cleaner batteries; and University of Ottawa politics and economics student Dustan Wang of the Communist Party of Canada.
Candidates are included in this riding profile once they've been listed as a confirmed candidate by Elections Canada, chosen as the winner of a nomination contest or who were the chosen candidate by a party that got at least one per cent of the national popular vote in 2015.

CBC Ottawa sent every candidate running in eastern Ontario or western Quebec seven questions via their party or a publicly available email address.
They were asked to stick to 25 to 100 word answers, depending on the questions.
