An Ottawa driver faces five more charges in relation to a hit-and-run collision that injured five cyclists in July.

An Ottawa driver faces five more charges in relation to a hit-and-run collision that injured five cyclists in July.

Sommit Luangpakham, 45, has now been charged with five counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, following a police investigation into the collision.

The incident occurred on March Road at Solandt Road on the morning of July 19.

The cyclists, three men and two women between the ages of 27 and 45, were reportedly struck by a minivan while riding in a bike lane. All five were taken to hospital, and four of them have since been released.

Luangpakham was initially charged on July 20 with five counts of failing to stop at the scene of a collision causing bodily harm.
