2 golfers struck by lightning near Kanata suffer life-threatening injuries
General manager of Loch March Golf & Country Club says players warned about severe weather risk
Two men were taken to hospital in life-threatening condition after they were struck by lightning on a golf course near Kanata during Monday afternoon's severe weather.
It happened at the Loch March Golf & Country Club on Old Carp Road off Huntmar Drive. Ottawa paramedics said they received the call at about 5:48 p.m. Monday.
The men suffered "serious life-threatening injuries," paramedics told Radio-Canada in French.
The region was under a number of weather alerts during the afternoon, including a severe thunderstorm watch by 1 p.m. and a tornado warning in Gatineau by approximately 4 p.m.

Danielle Nadon, the general manager of the Loch March Golf & Country Club, declined to do an interview with Radio-Canada Tuesday morning.
She said the incident was upsetting, and that she had performed CPR on the two men.
