One of the most famous graduates of the University of Ottawa will receive the key to the city next week as Jeopardy host Alex Trebek will be honoured by Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson.

Watson tweeted the announcement Friday morning in a Jeopardy-style question.

"The Key to the City will be presented to Mr. Trebek for his philanthropy and activism, his unrelenting commitment to higher education, and his steadfast loyalty to his alma mater, the University of Ottawa," according to a news release.

The tweet sparked some mixed reaction from the public.

There was some skepticism about the choice.

There was also some fooling around as Watson's somewhat cryptic tweet had a clear answer.

For those playing at home, Sajak is the host of Wheel of Fortune.

Trebek will receive the key to the city from mayor Watson at a news conference on May 5 at Ottawa City Hall.
