Human remains found after house fire in Bancroft

UPDATE | On Feb. 11, OPP said the remains are those of an unnamed resident and the fire was not suspicious.
Human remains have been found following a residential fire in Bancroft, Ont., earlier this week, police said Thursday.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said emergency services were called to the fire at a single-storey home on Meadow Court shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The homeowner remains unaccounted for and the remains have not been identified, police said.
The Ontario Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire.
Bancroft is about 220 kilometres west of Ottawa.
