The partial closure of Highway 417 for the replacement of the Percy Street bridge that was set for this weekend has been postponed, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) confirmed Thursday.

The ministry did not provide a reason for the postponement.

"Rapid Bridge replacements are complex [undertakings], the MTO and its contractor are working to make sure the project is completed as soon as possible," an email from the ministry said.

New dates for the work have not been set.

The work was set to close eastbound lanes between Carling Avenue/Kirkwood Avenue and Metcalfe Street and westbound lanes between Metcalfe Street/Catherine Street and Bronson Avenue between 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, and 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14.

This follows two similar bridge replacements last month.
