Ontario Provincial Police say the SUV crashed into a guard-rail before being violently struck by the tractor-trailer.

Investigators haven't yet been able to check the back seat of the badly damaged vehicle to see if anyone else was inside, OPP said.

They said they believe the SUV hit a guardrail before colliding with the truck.

Police are detouring vehicles between onto County Road 2 between County Road 6 and Gardiners Road.

They've closed the eastbound off-ramp at County Road 4 to "ensure orderly [detour] flow."
