Ottawa's storied football history reached a long-awaited high note on Sunday with a Grey Cup victory over the Calgary Stampeders.

The Ottawa Redblacks pulled off a highly-entertaining and nerve-wracking 39-33 win in overtime at BMO Field in Toronto.

Fans and team officials stormed the field to celebrate with the players.

That included Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson.

But the reaction stretched outside BMO Field, and even outside Ottawa.

The man known for Ottawa's last Grey Cup-winning catch tuned in, and enjoyed Ernest Jackson's juggling, game-winning grab.

And celebrated the end of the 40-year drought.

A Hall of Fame NFL quarterback was also watching.

The Ottawa Senators had just finished a win over the New York Rangers and caught the overtime.

Many in Ottawa got little sleep, too, waking up to a post-win hangover.

The Grey Cup parade is scheduled for Tuesday.
