A Quebec junior hockey team and local police are investigating reports some team members were involved in a sexual incident in a restaurant washroom.
The Gatineau Olympiques junior hockey team announced it was launching an internal investigation after media reports that several players were involved in a sexual incident involving an intoxicated woman in a restaurant washroom on Friday night.

"The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Gatineau Olympiques organization take the situation reported in the media very seriously," the Gatineau Olympiques said in a statement issued Monday morning.

"There will be an internal investigation and a process will be established for next steps. There will be no further comment on this situation until further notice."

Gatineau police confirmed it is investigating allegations of a "public sex act" at a Gatineau Boston Pizza on Boulevard des Grives around 11 p.m. Friday.

Police would not comment on whether or not the investigation involved Gatineau Olympiques players, or say how many people were involved in the incident.

Boston Pizza refused to comment on the incident but told CBC News to direct questions to police and the Gatineau Olympiques.
