Ottawa bus driver praised for helping passengers board during Tuesday snowstorm
Video of driver's actions viewed more than 400,000 times
An Ottawa bus driver who stood in a snowbank to help people board during this week's snowstorm will be rewarded for his effort.
OC Transpo tweeted Wednesday that the driver, Carlo DiFelice, will be receiving an "official commendation" after his actions were captured on a video that has been viewed about 500,000 times.
A humble DiFelice told CBC Ottawa his actions weren't unique during the snowstorm, which saw 26 centimetres of snow fall on the city.
"It's not about me," DiFelice said Wednesday afternoon. "It's about the people around me ... police, firefighters, everybody out here working their backsides off in a very challenging situation like that."

—@CBCAshleyBurkeThe video posted on Facebook shows DiFelice, who is wearing a dress shirt and pants but no coat, getting out of the bus and reaching out to passengers at the stop.
A voice heard on the video says the man "deserves an award."
Many of those who commented on the post seemed to echo that sentiment, praising the driver for his kindness and compassion.
The post has also drawn some 14,650 likes as of early Wednesday afternoon.
"It is so nice to see such a simple act of kindness that is most appreciated by all. Thank you bus driver whoever you are," wrote another.
