Brier fans happy with competition and camaraderie in Ottawa
More than 100,000 will have attended Brier by the time it wraps up
Halifax's Bob Noxious has a game of his own he likes to play when he goes to a Brier men's curling championship — and he's had practice, considering this is his 24th tournament.
"One of the games we like to play is 'meet an old friend, make a new friend.' So every day that I'm here, I try to run into someone I haven't seen yet that I've known from another Brier," he said.
By the time the Brier wraps up on Sunday night, well over 100,000 people will have been in attendance at TD Place.
Ottawa's Kevin Lemenchick said Saturday he's happy with his hometown tournament and the visitors he's talked to feel the same.
"First of all, the field has never been like this before. You see all the guys on the World Curling Tour. They're all here. There's very few that aren't," he said.
"And then just the atmosphere. It's been buzzing like crazy."
