Jean Cloutier was first elected to council in 2014 with 47 per cent of the vote.
This time around, five other candidates are out pounding the pavement trying to take the seat:
- Clinton Cowan, who came in second in 2014 with 29 per cent of the vote.
- Kevin Kit
- Raylene Lang-Dion
- Mike McHarg
- John Redins, who came in last in 2014 in a field of nine candidates.
Alta Vista is the home to hundreds of tenants being evicted from their homes in Heron Gate, and many candidates have been vocal about the need for more affordable housing options in the city. Another key issue in the area is slowing down traffic in neighbourhoods and poor road conditions.
Want to know more about the candidates?
So did we.
CBC Ottawa created a questionnaire and sent it to each of the registered candidates to fill out.
You can read the responses below. Some candidates did not respond to the questionnaire.
Questionnaires are posted as they were submitted.
