An Ottawa court heard from an alleged victim of human trafficking that she was forced to have sex with strangers for a two month period, from six in the morning until the time she went to bed.
The court watched a recorded interview of the alleged victim and Ottawa police Detective Shane Henderson.
The interview was entered as evidence on Thursday in the trial of Jamie Byron, who is facing several charges, including living off the avails of juvenile prostitution, assault, keeping a common bawdy house and attempting to flee police.
Byron, a 23 year-old man from Montreal, was arrested by Ottawa police in October 2011.
There is a publication ban on the identity of the alleged victim, who was 17 years old during the two month period she was forced into prostitution.
Forced into sex with over a hundred men, says alleged victim
In the tape the girl said she was forced to have sex with over one hundred men and had sex without a condom about 20 to 25 times because she "had to."
The young girl was often crying in her taped interview with Henderson.
The detective asked her how much money she would give Byron per day.
"Four hundred to five hundred," she said.
The alleged victim said that if she tried to leave he would hit her, pull her hair and take away her health card.
As the police interview was played, the alleged victim, now 19, watched from another room in the courthouse. After it was over, she testified that everything she said in the interview was true.
Among the Crown witnesses expected to testify in the trial are alleged johns, hotel managers and other Ottawa escorts who met the girl.
The trial resumes Friday.
