Okanagan fruit growers stop traffic
Several dozen Okanakan fruit growers are stopping motorists traveling between Penticton and Naramata.
They're handing out red delicious apples and information about their fight to get more money from the provincial government. The growers say they're losing money. Over the past two years they've been hit with bad weather and low apple prices.
Graham Duncan has been growing fruit for 20 years.
He says B.C. farmers need cash now or there won't be a fruit industry. Growers say they'll continue their protest for the next two days.
Some motorists are honking on their way by, but one told protesters they'd lose his sympathy if they ever blocked the road.
