Woman has life-threatening injuries after car, bus collide on Bedford Highway

A 31-year-old woman was taken to hospital on Friday with what police are calling life-threatening injuries after a car and Halifax Transit bus collided around 6 p.m. AT on the Bedford Highway.

A 31-year-old woman was taken to hospital on Friday with what police are calling life-threatening injuries after a car and Halifax Transit bus collided around 6 p.m. AT on the Bedford Highway.

In a news release, Halifax Regional Police said the woman was travelling north on Joseph Howe Drive and was merging on to the Bedford Highway when the car collided with a bus that was travelling in the same direction.

Nobody on the bus was seriously injured, police said.

A section of the Bedford Highway was closed to all traffic for several hours following the crash, but has since reopened. The police haven't charged anyone involved in the crash.
