Woman, 64, airlifted to hospital after motorcycle crash
RCMP called to scene of crash in Conquerall Bank, Lunenburg County, shortly after noon
A 64-year-old woman was airlifted to Halifax following a crash between a motorcycle and SUV Tuesday afternoon in Conquerall Bank in Lunenburg County.
The woman, who was driving the motorcycle, was flown to Halifax on LifeFlight and then was taken to the QEII Health Sciences Centre in an ambulance with a police escort.
Point Pleasant Park, where the helicopter landed, was busy with spectators watching the Parade of Sail, so police were there to help ensure the ambulance had a clear path to the hospital.
The extent of the woman's injuries has not been disclosed.
Nova Scotia RCMP said they were called to the scene at the 500 block of Highway 331 at 12:17 p.m.
The three people in the SUV were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The highway is expected to be closed for several hours as a police collision analyst investigates.
