Truro police are investigating after a body was found in an apartment building on Robie Street early Sunday.

The Truro Police Service said they were called to the scene around 2 a.m. and were still there as of 7 a.m.

The death is considered suspicious, but police said there is no risk to the public at this time.

A release from the Canadian Red Cross said more than a half-dozen tenants were asked to leave the two-storey building containing four apartments temporarily.

Red Cross volunteers arranged emergency lodging and meals for five men from one apartment, while some other tenants went to stay with relatives or friends in the area until police released the property.

The investigation is ongoing.
