CBC radio personality Don Connolly is one of three people who will be receiving honorary degrees from Saint Mary’s University at its upcoming convocation ceremonies.

Connolly is the co-host of CBC’s Information Morning for mainland Nova Scotia.

A university-issued news release cited Connolly for his commitment and dedication to public service for almost 40 years.

“From literature, history, and art to politics, sports and cooking, a vast range of subject matter is clarified and improved by the insights of Don Connolly,” said the release.

Connolly will be honoured with a Doctor of Civil Law, Honoris Causa on Oct. 18. Students receiving degrees at this ceremony will be undergraduate arts and sciences students.

Fred MacGillivray, the former president and CEO of Trade Centre Limited, and Rania Llewellyn, a senior leader in the national banking sector, will also receive honorary degrees at a separate convocation ceremony.
