Taylor Samson's body not found in Lower Truro search; police leave scene
Fellow Dalhousie student William Michael Sandeson, 22, charged with 1st-degree murder
Investigators and searchers in Nova Scotia have called off a search of several properties in the Truro area in connection with the murder of Dalhousie University student Taylor Samson.
Their efforts did not turn up the body of the 22-year-old Amherst man, who was last seen on Aug. 15 in Halifax.
The search ended at 2:15 p.m. Monday.
Police began the search of a property in Lower Truro on Aug. 25. A neighbour said part of the area being searched belongs to the family of the man accused of killing Samson.
William Michael Sandeson, a 22-year-old fellow Dalhousie University kinesiology student and track athlete from Lower Truro, is charged with first-degree murder in Samson's death. Sandeson was about to start his first year of medical school.
Investigators have been looking into a link between the men involving a drug deal.
On Aug. 27, searchers located several items of possible interest which are believed to be connected to the homicide.
Police would not say what the items are and how they may be connected to the homicide.
On Aug. 29, police extended the search to include property off Marshland Drive in Truro.
