Tancook Island ferry service resumes with charter vessel

The Nova Scotia government says one of its ferries is out of service until further notice because of a cracked propeller.

The Nova Scotia government has chartered a vessel to temporarily replace of one of its ferries that was forced from service because of a cracked propeller.

The Transportation Department says work is underway to repair the Tancook Island ferry.

It's unknown how long the repairs will take.

The ferry runs daily between Chester and Tancook Island. Service has now resumed with the charter vessel.

The ferry is one of seven operated by the provincial government.
