Sheet Harbour collision kills 17-year-old boy

The 17-year-old's vehicle was heading east on Highway 7 when he pulled out to pass, but there was oncoming traffic so he swerved back and ended up going off the road.

RCMP say the teen from Moser River was the only person in the car at the time

A 17-year-old boy from Moser River, N.S. was killed in a fatal collision on highway 7 in Sheet Harbour, N.S. Saturday night.

Police were called to the scene at 9:45 p.m.  

RCMP Const. John Wavrychuk says the teen was the only person in the car at the time.

The teen's vehicle was heading east on Highway 7 when he pulled out to pass, but there was oncoming traffic so he swerved back into his own lane. He over-corrected, went off the road, and was ejected from the vehicle. 

No one else was injured. 

An RCMP reconstructionist attended the scene.
